The Keys to Music

6 - 12 year olds

Everyone loves adventure. Imagine your child enjoying a positive and fun experience exploring the keys on the piano! This rewarding and motivating class is designed to bring the music out of your child as they discover the mysteries and rewards of learning an instrument. Through fast paced activities and positive rewards, you will see immediate positive results - and smiles. We will guide your child through the basics of piano with a time-tested curriculum. 

For 45 years, Wagner's School of Music's teaching techniques remain uniquely motivating. Reading, writing, performance, ear-training, singing, ensemble playing, timing, expressiveness and creativity are only a few of the areas of musicianship your child will be introduced to. Each student sits at his/her own "class-piano." Piano is not only known to be the best instrument for a musical beginning, but also as a life long tool for understanding and expressing music.

Students also learn values that come out of the discipline of practice (10-15 minutes a day, 5 days a week) as well as the value of meaningful rewards for a job well done. As a family based program, we support the family and the social values you are teaching at home.

• Class meets once per week for 45 minutes.

• Classes are on-going on a month-to-month basis.

• Class size is limited to 8 students and their parents.

Tuition

• FIRST CHILD: Tuition is $136 per month with a one-time $60.00 registration fee which includes the cost of the initial materials. The first month will be prorated if necessary. Payment is automatically debited from your account each month.

• Concurrently Enrolled Siblings:  Tuition is $116 per month and one-time $50.00 registration fee, which includes the cost of initial materials. The first month will be prorated if necessary. Payment is automatically debited from your account each month.

NOTE: if you are with a charter, please email charterrelations@wagnersmusic.com and let us know which charter you are with. Please request funds upon registering!

For a list of available beginner classes, please see our selection of days, times & locations below. If your child has at least two years of piano experience, please call our office to schedule an evaluation for class placement.

Kindergarteners

Piano Discovery is a fun-filled 10-week music session designed just for kids who are kindergarten age! In these ten weeks, your child will learn to play songs about friends, animals, and places in an exciting and imaginative class! The Piano Discovery curriculum was created to be fun yet challenging for the young beginner. Your child will be taken to an exciting musical "playground", where they'll learn singing, playing, seeing, rhythm and technique all while remaining at their own keyboard! We encourage smiles, laughter and movement, while learning basic musical concepts with fun songs! We will also be featuring rhythmic instruments such as tambourines, shakers and more! Your child will easily learn concepts, songs and rhythm patterns!

Piano Discovery is the perfect springboard from little to no musical education to feeling confident and ready to join one of our beginner piano classes.

Things to Note:

• Piano Discovery is only for children ages 5 - 6 (kindergarten age)

• Piano Discovery registration includes a bag, books and more!

• Some type of piano or small electronic keyboard is required for at home playing

• Parent Participation also is required

• Each class meets once per week for 45 minutes

• Class size is limited to 8 students and their parents

Tuition

• First Child: $400 which includes a one-time registration and materials fee ($60), and tuition for the entire session. Due to high demand, payment in full is required to secure your spot in class.
